Big Design Up Front, Emergent Design, or somewhere in between?

Big Design Up Front and Emergent Design are two extreme ends of a single spectrum. In this video, Julien (Sr. User Experience Designer at Emakina.NL) explains both design options for software development. He covers the strengths and weaknesses of both approaches.

He believes neither provides the ultimate answer. He explains why it’s somewhere in between. “At Emakina we are constantly tailoring our approach based on the idea of Just Enough Design Up Front (JEDUF) or Rough Design Up Front (RDUF).”
